Shandong Carrot Prices Are Falling Rapidly
Last week, the price of Shandong carrots dropped sharply. The lowest price has dropped to around 0.50 yuan/kg, and the highest price has dropped from 1.2 yuan/kg to 0.8 yuan/kg. Recently, the decline in carrot prices in Shandong is mainly affected by two factors:
First, the inventory of carrots in Shandong Province is still sufficient. Last fall, the carrots in Inner Mongolia were reduced, and some stocks were purchased and stored in large quantities, raising the price of autumn carrots. Carrots that are priced at high prices are still in large stocks and face greater sales pressure in the later period.
Secondly, the planting area of spring carrots in Qingdao and Weifang is increasing. At the end of March and early April, new carrots in Shandong Province will be listed. Once the new carrots are on the market, the carrots in stock are no longer needed. So the stock of carrots in the province has fallen rapidly in the last two weeks.
