Chinese Ginger Export Price To Europe Returns To Reasonable Levels
The price of Chinese ginger in the European market began to rise between early to mid-February, and this development continued until the end of the month. The price then returned to reasonable levels.
Several reasons for this price readjustment.
First, the price of fresh ginger was higher than the price of yellow ginger between middle to late December and early January. Many European buyers expected the price to come down, so they temporarily stopped buying ginger.
Second, many factories closed down during Chinese Spring Festival. This put an effective stop to processing of ginger for export trade.
